The Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Anambra State Police Command, on Sunday, stormed a carjackers’ den in the state and arrested three suspects.

It also recovered a bus and a Sport Utility Vehicle as well as arms and ammunition from the suspects.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to our correspondent and said the suspects were arrested at their hideouts in the Achalla/Nkpor area of the state. Mohammed added, “It will be recalled that a Toyota Highlander SUV with number plate APP 49 FM and other valuables belonging to one Christopher Oraukwu, 54, were snatched at gunpoint on the Ekwulobia Road, Aguata.

He gave the names of the suspects as Chidi Ugoji, 31, from Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state; Okoye Onyebuchi, 34, of Umunachi in the same local government area; and Onwe Chigozie, 22, from Ikwo, Ebonyi State.
