Whether or not he was misquoted or meant what was credited to him. “Although he has not debunked what was reported, one can assume that what was quoted to have been said by him is correct, but if he fails to openly come out and say which is correct in 48 hours, you will hear the bombardment and I will have no option but to break the egg and tell the whole world and Nigerians who Obasanjo is. Kolawole, who polled 67,457 votes, came third, while Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party came second with 82,211 votes, and the winner, Biodun Oyebanji, of the All Progressives Congress scored 187,057 votes. “There is no doubt Obasanjo may still be angry with Atiku even after helping him to succeed but perhaps for truncating his third term agenda. Obasanjo, who spoke on Saturday during a leadership mentoring session with selected students in Abeokuta, Ogun State, said the mistake was one he made in good faith but was saved by God. In any case, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku is our presidential candidate and I can tell you for sure that he will be the President in 2023 Insha Allah. Ahead of the election, the party on June 9 constituted an 80-member National Campaign Council, but the council, like Ayu and Atiku, didn’t visit the state to campaign for the candidate.” Jibril while speaking on picking of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as running mate to Atiku Abubakar, also said a high-powered reconciliatory committee would soon be set up to meet Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. “It is our belief that in any contest, there will always be a winner and a loser and we must take whatever comes our way as the will of God who gives power to whatever he wishes at the time he wishes.
On the outcome of the presidential primary and subsequent picking of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the running mate of Atiku which may have angered Governor Wike, the BoT Chairman disclosed that a high-powered reconciliatory committee would soon be constituted to meet Governor Wike and appeal to him. The party’s chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and its pioneer interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, were also present at the mega rally. He said, “One of the mistakes I made was picking my number two when I wanted to become the President. “Governor Wike is a great party man who fought for the party. When the committee is constituted, we will also bring other contestants together. Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State; Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, and Samuel Anyanwu were among the members. We will go and meet with Governor Wike and appeal to him even if it means kneeling down to beg him,” he said. When he wanted to arrest me, I was told by the American ambassador that they would arrest me and that America had asked that I should be given asylum. Tags: . He argued that the refusal to openly campaign for Kolawole before the poll created a negative perception for the party and its candidate. “The PDP is kicking very well and we will rule Nigeria again and do better.
