So far, out of the 33 aspirants, Iyorchia Ayu , Ahmed Mohammed , Umaru Bature , Daniel Woyengikuro , and Kamaldeen Ajibade are consensus candidates for the positions of national chairman, national treasurer, national financial secretary and national legal adviser respectively.
Three persons, Taofeek Arapaja, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Wale Oladipo, have obtained and submitted forms to contest for the position of National Secretary. A similar scenario is playing out in the North East where the position of deputy national chairman , is being hotly contested for. Former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Maryam Ina-Ciroma is contesting the position with Ambassador Umar Damagum.
