The Peoples Democratic Party has inaugurated a national reconciliation committee and campaign councils for Kogi and Bayelsa governorship elections, scheduled for November 16.While the party’s campaign council for Kogi is chaired by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, that of Bayelsa is headed by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.
Mr Secondus, who expressed confidence in the members of the campaign councils, advised them to work for the victory of the party in the two states. “Preach one man, one vote; obey all the rules and the laws of the land, because we are a party that believe in the rule of law. Mr Secondus advised INEC to be neutral in the conduct of the elections to ensure that they were free, fair and credible.
In his response, Mr Saraki said his committee would do its best to reconcile all aggrieved members in the two states. Also speaking, Governor Mohammed said the issue of reconciliation in Bayelsa was half done, as former President Goodluck Jonathan had directed him to accept the responsibility.
