The Federal Government has appealed to taxpayers to pay their Value Added Tax to the Federal Inland Revenue Service .
This was contained in a public notice published on Thursday, following the confusion generated by the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Rivers State in Suit Number FHC/PH/CS/149/2020 and subsequent enactment of VAT laws by some States. The notice said, “VAT Collection: This is No Time for Litigations, Nigeria like other countries is facing economic and revenue challenges and all hands must be on deck to make Nigeria pull through the difficult period. Hence, it is not a time for litigations but to work in consensus.”
She said this will subsist until the final determination of the case on VAT collection before the Court of Appeal sitting in the FCT.
What have they done with the one we have paid. Come and experience how bad our road is
Question is...is it lawful to pay VAT to federal or state government?
E don reach to beg abi? Una never see anything yet.
Nope we won't. We know better
Shi shi ha no dey pay again, na chop ha go dey chop am
Pay to states.
If a southern governors commission a road. The federal government will take 10% as vat and share to the northern state that are not doing anything.
Pay ur VATS directly to ur various states
They would pay it to the state government Northern states are waiting for VAT from the south so they would pay salaries The southern state should refuse to send any VAT to them They can generate millions for election but can’t generate VAT
No way.
