A prominent philanthropist, Valentine Ozigbo, has hailed fathers for their enterprise, strength and selflessness as the world marked Father’s Day on Sunday.

In a statement from his country home in Amesi, Aguata Local Council of Anambra State, Ozigbo eulogised fathers for their commitment and bravery, standing by their families and showing leadership at the crucial moments.

He said: “As children, fathers introduce us to the importance of sacrifice, as they naturally shoulder the needs of the family. This sense of responsibility and self-denial is an important fibre that strengthens family ties.”Ozigbo, who is the People’s Democratic Party frontrunner ahead of the 2021 Anambra State governorship election, thanked the fathers in his campaign organisation and their families for making sacrifices for the greater good of Ndi Anambra.

IN a related vein, for peace in the country and solutions to myriad of problems facing the nation, there is need for fathers to provide spiritual security and leadership to their children, families, and as many that come across their way. Fathers were also called upon to be role models with focus and direction through payers and not to be ‘Absentee Fathers’. This was the charge from Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, the Under-Shepherd of All Nations Christian Ministry International and Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, during the Fathers’ Day celebration and 17th anniversary of the church.

He said that if fathers take up their responsibilities at home, the society and nation would be better for it, urging them to provide spiritual, moral and financial security through prayers.
