The tertiary education regulatory body made this known in its latest weekly bulletin, which was made available to The PUNCH in Abuja, on Sunday.
The commission, however, added that it would continue to leverage on its statutory mandates to ensure the orderly development of the university system in Nigeria. The publication read in part, “The recent outflux of Nigerian students to foreign countries for university education, which in most cases, such qualifications are being obtained from unaccredited institutions, has become a major challenge to the Nigerian university system.
“The commission, in performing its statutory regulatory functions of ensuring the orderly development of the NUC, has continued to ensure and maintain quality and standards in university education.
Cos you have left the system intended to.
NUC, what's the essence of your university accreditation if you graduates are not employable or be self employed? Where most graduates of engineering are working in banks.
Maybe we need to review our accreditation policies. The world has become a small community and people's ambitions to acquire formal education has become borderless.
They encourage it by recognizing and accepting the certificates.
Unaccredited ? What is your concern NUC. ALL of you have your children abroad already.
When you make money your idol values drop , government becomes den of hardcore rogue in power , politicians become kingpins to luxury of crime underground and the people will become independent thus creating their own means of survival. A one definition Concrete jungle!
Who's to be blame? Nigerians who want to go to school or you who is not making it conducive for them to learn?
It’s a reflection of the whole Nigeria 🇳🇬 but hey new one is about to be born…
Na today? Fell victim in 2012 courtesy of ad seen on newspaper that day. I think media outfits, too, should do their due diligence by ensuring proper scrutiny before giving these varsities space on their papers and time on air. We shall be fine.
