Following the exoneration of the five students and five employees of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos State, linked to the death of a 12-year-old student, Sylvester Oromoni , by the state government, the management of the school has urged all those who have been spreading malicious information against the school as a result of the unfortunate incident to cease henceforth “and allow our dear Sylvester’s soul rest peacefully in our Lord’s arms.

“The authorities directed that an autopsy be conducted and the report reveals that there was no bodily harm, no intoxication, but rather that the young boy suffered and died of preexisting health conditions that had not been treated. Our longstanding integrity, values and processes that we have worked tirelessly to maintain over the past 24 years have been called into question and dragged through the mud. Today the truth wins, our faith wins and our integrity wins.

“The results have now been released by the various authorities. The police investigations uncovered nothing to support that Slyvester was bullied or suffered harm. We do not know under what circumstances the accused names were mentioned. We have no response to that. We can only go by what the experts and the authorities have uncovered and reported.

Addressing a press conference in Lagos, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Odumosu, advised members of the public who are aggrieved over the outcome of investigations into the matter to seek redress in court instead of resorting to self-help. “Our findings at the second autopsy include marked pallor of organs, pneumonia , infections of the liver and kidneys as well as the heart. These infections emanated from the ankle infection described earlier in the report. Microscopic sections also confirmed that the death was caused by Septicaemia following infections of the lungs and kidneys arising from the ankle wound. No evidence of blunt force trauma in this body.

“Thus members of the public who may have any misgivings about the outcome of the police investigation, medical enquiry and legal advice with this case are advised to follow due process in law rather than resorting to self help. The police will not fold their arms and allow any act or omission that could threaten the peace being enjoyed in the state.”

I personally blame the father of this student who failed to withdraw him since first incident. God will surely deal with all people who have hand in his death amin. To all parents let be vigilant about our children because one particular school can't determine there success.

Don't stretch your luck too far. Be mute.

It is better for this school to keep quiet. Are they trying to mourn or mock their dead student?
