Ondo IGR now over N1.5 billion monthly – Akeredolu

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Tuesday said the monthly Internally Generated Revenue of the state had increased to over N1.5 billion.

He said the monthly IGR was previously less than N700 million but had more than doubled due to the initiatives of the present administration. The governor also hailed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State Governor and National leader of the All Progressives Congress for his pioneering role at building an economic base which pushed up the IGR of Lagos State as one of the biggest economies in Africa.

Earlier, the Chairman of the association, Mathew Akinbileje, had lauded Mr Akeredolu on delivery of democracy dividends to the people of the state.

Weak economy, low IGR may hinder minimum wage implementation – GovsSome state governors on Wednesday lamented the poor state of the economy and low Internally Generated Revenue, saying these might negatively affect implementation of the new minimum wage in most st... Weak what? But it won't hinder senators' allowance. What a rotten country! Stupid morons! Give me the poorest state in the country and in two years i ll pay £9/hr as minimum wage. If you ve common sense and are innovative you can raise your state’s IGR within two years and even be sending money to the federal govt instead of relying on FG’s allocations What sort of careless governors do we have in Nigeria. All of a sudden low IGR will affect minimum wage implementation while many of your relations are lavishly spending and acquiring properties.
