Ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo State, the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, on Saturday picked its governorship candidate.
The party being nurtured by the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko became the first political party to hold primaries to pick its candidate following the emergence of Comrade Darius Benjamin Olarotimi. Olarotimi emerged at a convention held in Akure, the Ondo State capital after beating his sole challenger, Pastor Olusegun Esho.
Olarotimi scored 65 votes out of 90 votes to defeat Esho who polled 20 votes with five invalid votes. The exercise monitored by INEC officials was organized by the Party’s Convention committee headed by Mr Eni Akinsola.
