THE Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has condemned the recent communal clash in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

A statement by his media office on Sunday, titled, ‘Omo-Agege calls for peace in Isoko’, indicated that the DSP was shocked and saddened by the situation, which led to the death of nine persons, including a child.

The statement explained that Omo-Agege believed that the situation demanded urgent and pragmatic efforts to prevent further bloodletting. He said, “Respected political, traditional, religious, women and youth leaders within and without Isoko need to preach restraint, de-escalate the situation and help to quickly restore genuine peace to the land.”
