The Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, has formally declared his intention to contest for the governorship seat of Abia State in 2023 on the platform of the All-Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued, yesterday, in Abuja, by the Head of Press and Public Relations Unit of the ministry, Mrs. Etore Thomas, Ogah noted that his decision to contest for governor was hinged on his love for Abia and his firm commitment to achieve a vision of rapid transformation of Abia.

IN another development, the Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party , at the weekend, lost one of its young governorship aspirants to the Young Progressives Party , Mr. Onyekwere Uche, who said that his aspiration was motivated by the urge to bring new hope that would encourage young Nigerians to effectively participate in governance and contribute more effectively to the development of the nation.
