Sunday Okereke put Rivers United ahead on five minutes, while Sikiru Olatubosun equalised for the visitors 10 minutes from time.Katsina United and Kano Pillars boosted their survival hopes with important wins at home.The hosts took a two-goal lead in the first half through Tosin Omoyele. Sikiru Alimi reduced the deficit in the 56th minute, with Alameen Adegbite netting the equaliser on the stroke of 90 minutes.
Rabiu Ali’s 51st minute penalty was all Kano Pillars needed to secure all three points against Rangers at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Katsina won the game after 120 min with 30 mins added time by the ref.
