The Chairman, Senate Committee on Integration and Cooperation in Africa/NEPAD, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, Thursday bemoaned the incessant sexual harassment

He said that there is need to put an end to all forms of discrimination against women especially the girl child.He also condemned all forms of violence against women and girls.Nnamani, in a statement to commemorate the 2019 International Day of the Girl Child, in Abuja, also called for the elimination of negative cultural practices against girls in the country in with international best practices.

The Senator urged the Federal Government to do more to advance the rights of women and girls and promote gender equality in line with the theme of this year’s celebration which is: “Girl-Force: Unscripted and unstoppable”.He pledged to pay the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) fees for all female students taking the exams next year in public schools in his Enugu East Senatorial District.
