Nigerian university suspends student for calling vice chancellor ‘foolish’ on Facebook

A student of Akwa Ibom State University , Ikot Akpaden, has been suspended “indefinitely” from the school for allegedly calling the university vice chancellor ‘foolish’ on Facebook.

Ms Nkanang’s Facebook post, PREMIUM TIMES learnt, was about the increase in cult activities and insecurity around the university campus. The university’s attention was drawn to her “foolish vc” comment which the authority, in the suspension letter, described as “gross misconduct” and a “breach of matriculation oath”.

But a source who witnessed the meeting proceedings said the student was not allowed to make any comment when she appeared before the officials.A student of Akwa Ibom State University , Ikot Akpaden.

ok

A degree is only awarded to those found good in character and learning.

This isn't an act of serious misconduct, the punishment is in excess of the offence. She should be recalled after two weeks of suspension.

The student deserve it

A lot of people cowardly hide behind social media, to insult they can't even stand beside, in real life. That student was actually foolish

That university should also be scraped from the educational system of our dear nation. The VC should be checked

Power drunk?

No right of expression here

This actually confirms the VC foolishness

Thereby proving the students point about his being foolish!

Her offence not withstanding, why was she suspended when the so called 'investigation ' has not been concluded? Mad people everywhere.
