The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has raised an alarm over an alleged plot by some persons and groups to stage a protest at the National Secretariat of the union located in Garki 2, Abuja. The union said they plan to infiltrate their ranks by wearing the union's uniform and disguising as members to attack the Secretariat and some parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The union disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement issued by the President of the union, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa in Abuja.

According to him, they are not members of the union but belong to Lagos, Osun and Ondo states' park management committees.

"I want to tell you that these people are not our members, they just want to cause violence in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). We are using this medium to call on security agencies to rise to the occasion and prevent the breakdown of law and order.
