The Police Command in Niger State has said gunmen killed an unspecified number of people while observing early morning prayers at a Mosque at Mazakuka village in Mashegu Local Government Area of the state. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Monday Kuryas, who disclosed this to Newsmen in Minna on Monday, said the hoodlums also abducted seven other worshipers from the mosque.

Contrary to some media reports that the national elective convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, may be postponed, the National Working Committee, NWC, has said the October 31st date for the exercise stands.
