Nigerian newspapers: 10 things you need to know this Thursday morning

1. The senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Senator Elisha Abbo, has apologised to Nigerians, the Peoples Democratic Party and women in general, following a viral video in which he was caught physically assaulting a lady at a sex-toy shop in Abuja.

3. Barely 48 hours to the planned mass action and following public outcry against the RUGA Settlement Projects, President Muhammadu Buhari is said to have suspended the idea pending further notice. A source close to the presidency hinted newsmen on Wednesday, that President Buhari may have resolved to suspend the scheme till further consultations.

5. The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has reacted to a CCTV footage relating to allegations of malfeasance against a senator elected on the platform of the PDP, Senator Elisha Abbo. Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary, in a statement on Wednesday, said the PDP, as a law-abiding and upstanding party, detests and completely condemns such act of lawlessness and callousness as exhibited in the video and will never condone it.

7. The Christian Association of Nigeria has said the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly is not its member. Kwamkur Vondip, national director, legal and public affairs of CAN, made this known in a statement on Wednesday. COZA has been in the news since Busola, celebrity photographer and wife of singer Timi Dakolo, accused Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, of rape.
