Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied millions of qualified Nigerians the right to vote in the 2023 general elections.

While delivering judgment in a suit filed before it by a constitutional lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome and Abubakar Damisa Sani, the court on Friday declared that INEC acted unlawfully when it closed the Continuous Voters' Registration exercise on July 31, 2022, which is more than six months to the general elections which will start on February 25, 2023.

the Defendant must have satisfied itself of its capacity to produce permanent voter cards and distribute same to all registered voters in Nigeria."It is apparent from the averments of the Defendant that they do not have the equipment that is capable of producing at the complimentary level of voters registration.
