Nigeria Records 136 New COVID-19 Cases, Three More Deaths

The 136 cases recorded on Saturday were from 16 states, including Lagos , Ogun , Rivers , Abia , Oyo , Plateau , Bauchi , Ondo , Ekiti , Kaduna , Edo , Ebonyi , Bayelsa , Delta , Osun , and Yobe .The novel coronavirus has killed at least 993,438 people worldwide since the outbreak emerged in China last December, according to a tally from official sources compiled by AFP at 1100 GMT on Saturday.

Based on latest reports, the countries with the most new deaths were Argentina with 3,901 — a sharp increase due to a change in its counting method — followed by India with 1,089 and the United States with 887. The country with the highest number of deaths compared to its population is Peru with 97 fatalities per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Belgium with 86, Bolivia 67, Spain 67, and Brazil 66.
