New strategies needed in tackling terrorism — IGP vanguardngr.com vanguardnews

—Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, yesterday said the development of new strategies in tackling terrorism in the West African sub-region has become imperative.Adamu who spoke at a 3-day meeting of West African Police Chiefs Committee, WAPCCO, also said there was an urgent need for security and intelligence organisations of member states to create synergies among themselves.

According to him, “This is a larger forum where the chiefs of other security services in the region will brainstorm and work with synergy with the police services within the region to fight common crime and insecurity bedevilling the region. The crimes such as terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, human trafficking are all common crimes that are affecting the sub-region.
