Northerners have refused to take advantage of the ‘educational benefits’ given to them by the Nigerian government, the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El- Rufai, has said.
Mr El-Rufai spoke during a plenary session on “Rethinking Sub-National Competitiveness” at the ongoing Nigerian Economic Summit.The members of this session were Mr El-Rufai, Azinge Azinge, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Justin Lin, a Professor of Economics. According to the United Nations, the huge number of out-of-school children in northern Nigeria poses an enormous challenge.

If the cut off is same as South, then every Northern Youth won't go to school. That's the beauty of federalism, each region would develop at her own pace. Formal education is not a do or die. Basic education is necessary & important. Cut off dealt more to the South than North.

Really there is absolutely no basis for low cut off mark for a region, it's actually an insult to the region. Give everyone a level playing field.
