SOME leaders of Niger Delta origin have said downsizing the board or effecting structural changes to the leadership of the Niger Delta Development Commission, as recommended in the forensic audit report, may not stop the corrupt practices perpetrated in the commission.

This was as they called on the Federal Government to sanction anyone found wanting as a result of the revelations of the report. Earlier, the Vanguard for Transparent Leadership and Democracy faulted some of the recommendations of the forensic audit report, especially as regards the appointment of a statutory governing board.

The group’s national President, Emmanuel Igbini, expressed “shock and disappointment that the lead Forensic Auditor, Kabir Ahmed, recommended managerial as well as structural changes to the NDDC, chief of which is downsizing the board and members of the board to be on part-time.
