The Nigerian Correctional Service has yet to release the names and pictures of fleeing inmates, four days after armed men breached the Abolongo Custodial Centre, Oyo State and released over 900 inmates.

But the NCoS spokesman, Francis Enobore, said the pictures and names of the inmates would be released soon, adding that the service was still sorting out the names of those who escaped and those re-arrested.on Monday, Enobore said, “We are recovering them massively; we just got about 16 now. When the minister was there, we had 446 and we also had an addition of 16.

Also, the Public Relations Officer of NCoS, Oyo State Command, Lanre Anjonrin, confirmed the return of more inmates to one of our correspondents in Ibadan on Monday.Meanwhile, security experts have attributed the frequent attacks and breaches of custodial facilities across the country to lack of synergy between the NCoS and the Nigeria Police.

Speaking on the development in an interview, a retired Commissioner of Police, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, identified lack of synergy between the NCoS and the police as a reason for the prison attacks, apart from compromise by custodial officers.
