The Nigerian Communications Commission on Friday expressed its commitment to reach all categories of telecommunication consumers, with the launch of a consumer-centred outreach programme tagged, ‘Shine your eyes, No fall mugu’, which literally translates to, ‘Be alert, don’t be a victim of fraudsters’.

Speaking at the event, Mr Efosa Idehen, Director, Consumer Affairs, NCC, represented by Clement Omife, Head, Consumer Protection and Advocacy, NCC said, “One of the critical mandates of the NCC is the protection and promotion of the interests of consumers, which is domiciled with the Consumer Affairs Bureau of the Commission.

He said, “One of the critical mandates of the NCC is the protection and promotion of the interests of consumers, which is domiciled with the Consumer Affairs Bureau of the Commission. “The Commission collaborates with consumers’ advocacy groups and relevant stakeholders in creating awareness and promoting initiatives like,”Shine your eyes, No fall mugu”.

The two-day programme started with a road show on Thursday and featured local artistes and comedians who performed to entertain people, create awareness and sensitise telecom consumers about how cybercriminals use telecom platforms to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

It’s time to end ‘business as usual’ with Nigeria - Punch NewspapersNigeria’s worsened internal struggles now provoke debate among specialists about whether to describe the country as a “failed state.” Apart from such debates over labels, what is clear is that Nigeria’s instability is rooted in a vital shortcoming: After 61 years of independence, the country still struggles to cultivate a national identity rooted in people’s basic freedoms and dignity. Biafran and ipobian authored opinion. SecBlinken ABlinken should know Nig is a failed state, bad governance, insecurity sponsored by states to suffer the citizens, corruption, unemployment now rules. The youths will rise soon if nothing tangible is done cus the suffering is now unbearable with so much resources&wealth The only genuine response from US must be referendum for these citizens to determine what they genuinely want from this state created by a foreigner. It doesn’t work, it will not work and it will continue until referendum is conducted.
