Nigeria Basketball Accountability Group (NBCG) has rubbished the alleged embezzlement of $2.2m Kwese Premier Basketball League sponsorship money by the

former president of the Nigeria Basketball Federation , Tijjani Umar, describing the media report as blatant falsehood and fake news.

The group insisted that NBBF under Umar’s leadership transparently managed sponsorship deals with DStv , Zenith Bank and Kwese , saying his tenure recorded tremendous achievements that put Nigeria on the global basketball map. “This was followed by the first ever victory at the Men’s African Championship in Tunisia in 2015 which also qualified Nigeria to its second Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
