Nasarawa sets aside N1.5bn to empower women, youth

The Nasarawa State Government has concluded plans to empower 1,500 women and youths to ensure food sufficiency in the state. He explained that the programme was in fulfilment of the governor’s promise on what to achieve within his first 100-days in office.

“The government would also put machinery in place to ensure that the beneficiaries put in the monies only in agricultural related activities,” the governor’s aid added.

“At the end of the training exercise, the government would pay the money for the training and provide the youths with start-up packs to enable them establish their own production company and be self-reliant,” he said.
