Naira Redesign: One shot as hoodlums attack banks, destroy campaign posters in Ogun

PREMIUM TIMES had reported how angry youth went on the rampage in protest against the shortage of cash and hike in the price of the premium motor spirit, commonly called petrol.The violent protest spread to Sapon, Panseke, Oke ilewo, Abiola way, Adatan, Kugba, and other areas in Abeokuta, affecting traffic.

A worker at the bank, who asked not to be named to avoid possible sanction, told PREMIUM RIMES that one of the hoodlums had shouted in Yoruba: “Owo wa ninu ile, meaning, “ There is money inside the building.”The source added that the men who were armed with guns later fled in face of the superior fire force of the police.“In a bid to stop the invasion of the bank, armed policemen raced to the scene and there was a gun battle between them and the hoodlums.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the police in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, had warned the youth against violent acts. “Anyone found destroying properties will be dealt with decisively,“ he said.

This is simply term APC fighting APC. CBN and banks to some extent have done well to ensure new notes get across to every Nigerian with or without account but those that don't want election to hold will sponsor protests to disrupt the process. CBN shouldn't extend the deadline!

It's like I don't see other countries citizens protest.Still can't figure out why arm force will open fire or use gun against protesters or hoodlums if that what you tag them who don't have guns or use gun on them. Where's the love by oritsefemi says it all .need to listen to it

Calling them hoodlums for their own money is just crazy. Or hoodlum has been redefined?
