Maryam Ahmed, 35, is the widow of the late Babagana Ahmed, headmaster of Asheik Jarma Mega Primary School, Maiduguri, Borno State, who was stabbed to death allegedly by security men guarding the school. The bereaved mother of five speaks about the tragic incident in this interview withhusband was recently stabbed to death by some assailants, who came to your house to attack him.

I was shouting on top of my voice and calling for help because my husband was already in a pool of his own blood. Our neighbours came over and we rushed him to the hospital. He didn’t die immediately after the stab; he was still alive up to the time we got to the hospital, which was around 2:45am.

One day, he got home and told me that the CJTF personnel locked him up in his office. He said they used benches and chairs to block the entrance to his office in protest against his decision to relieve them of their duties as security men of the mega school but I told him to be prayerful.
