The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the Mother, Infant and Child initiative has helped over 3,000 indigent women in the state to produce healthy babies.The MICH initiative with the theme, ‘A Threat to Nutrition is a Threat to Our Security,’ was implemented by the Office of Civic Engagement in partnership with AlaroCity, Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, Ilera Eko, Premier Lotto and Lagos Mortgage Board.
Sanwo-Olu said, “The MICH programme speaks to our desire to protect the rights of our women and children in Lagos. I am glad to say we have been able to touch over 3,000 indigent pregnant women in about 12 local government and local council development areas.” Sanwo-Olu added that the initiative was part of the administration’s goal to reduce maternal and child mortality in the state.
