At least three persons died of a suspected deadly lassa fever at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano.

A senior medical doctor in AKTH who wanted his name not mentioned told The Guardian Nigeria that the case is under investigation to establish the fact. It was also gathered that the authorities have commence contact tracing of all health workers who participated during the operation while proper precautionary measures are being taken at the hospital.
