Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, on Thursday pledged to improve the security and transportation of students and staff of the University of Jos.

The Governor made this assurance to school’s Pro-chancellor, Attahiru Jega, during the latter’s visit to the Government House, Jos.

This was contained in a statement titled, ‘Governor Lalong Meets UNIJOS Pro-chancellor, PROF. JEGA, assures of enhanced security’, released by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Makut Macham. Jega told the Governor that the students need improved security to thrive well in their academic activities, adding the school was vulnerable during the recent attacks in the state .

“We need continuous support and improvement to ensure peace, stability and security within the University and environs for its growth and development,” the statement quoted Jega as saying.
