He also decried the recalcitrant attitude of boat operators who had not followed the state’s directive by failing to register with the agency.
The statement quoted him as saying, “The registration of boat operators will enable us to plan ahead, know how to intervene in terms of infrastructure and reach out to the people in terms of development. Those who failed to do necessary registration stipulated by law will soon be sanctioned by the State government”.
Emmanuel also stressed that the government will continue to do its best in terms of infrastructural upgrade, sensitisation and advocacy programmes in Epe and other divisions of the State. Also present at the event was a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Epe Constituency 1, Abiodun Tobun, who described the event as a welcome development.
The lawmaker revealed that more boats for water transportation will be brought to Epe soon, to decongest the roads, make life easier and above all, enhance the economic activities of inhabitants of the community.
