The Emir of Karaye in Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar, has directed heads of districts, villages and wards in his domain to support the state Tasks Force Committee on Evacuation and Repatriation of beggars to end street begging.
According to Yola, the monarch gave the directive when members of the committee paid him a courtesy visit on Tuesday.
Why does he want them to stop street begging? Begging and giving of alms is one of the pillars of Islam. Why is he trying to go against the religion and the sources of feeding for most of the Imans who house those almajiris?
