The Pro-Chancellor University of Jos, Prof. Attahiru Jega, on Thursday met with Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State.

Jega, who is also the chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, was on a courtesy visit to the governor at Government House in Jos. He told the governor that the students required improved security to thrive well in their academic activities, saying the school was vulnerable during the recent attacks in the state.

“We need continuous support and improvement to ensure peace, stability and security within the university and environs for its growth and development,” he said. Jega said that the university also needed buses which would operate within the school to minimise risk of insecurity students experienced when patronising commercial transportation.

FG confused over Kanu, self-determination agitation, says AfenifereThe pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has said the Federal Government is not serious about the case against the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. To be honest, I would like to see Nnamdi Kanu and his urchins have their own country. I want to see where they are better that makes them think the rest of humanity only came to look! I thought these Afęnifębi people said they are Pan-Yoruba group. They should be talking about Sunday Igboho kę, oh! I forgot they only blame Nigerian government but can say much about the Benenoise government that detained Igboho. Afęnifębi are enemies of progress. dudubody “The appropriate mindset is to admit that Nigeria, as a wobbling contraption of entrenched nationalities, is negotiable and that negotiations do not necessarily lead to dismemberment. Let the dialogue begin.” - Afenifere, Sola Ebiseni
