Iran: 600 people die from drinking alcohol to cure Coronavirus

More than 600 Iranians have died from the consumption of high-concentrated alcohol believing it protects against the coronavirus.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency quoted a spokesperson for the Iranian judiciary, Ghulam Hussein Ismaili, as saying that the number of deaths due to drinking neat alcohol had reached a disturbing figure, adding that more than 3,000 people had been poisoned after drinking toxic beverages in an effort to treat the disease.

As of Tuesday afternoon, as many as 3,872 have died of the coronavirus in the Islamic Republic while the number of infections reached 63,589.

J thought it was only Africans that take the alcohol to prevent Corona virus

Every one wants to live- leaders,dxpriests, imams, terrorists, armed robbers etc . Survival is the strongest instinct in man. Against their religious obligations not to take alcohol of any kind, they tried to survive. The obligation is no longer sacrosanct.

I learnt Muslims don't drink alcohol! So why did they do it? Where did they get such large concentration of alcohol from in this Muslim predominant country? Why is Nigerian Muslims different from their Iran Muslims with respect to drinking alcohol?
