The development was sequel to a verdict of a Federal High Court sitting in Kano, which, as the duly elected member of the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the February 23, 2019, general elections.
Issuing the Certificate of Return in Abuja on Tuesday, INEC’s National Commissioner, Amina Zakari said the issuance of the certificate is on the order of the court which the body obeys. Kawu-Sumaila was a former Senior Special Assitant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly matters.
