The Senate has given the Independent National Electoral Commission the go ahead to transmit the November 6 Anambra State governorship election results electronically.Gaya spoke with journalists after a meeting between the Chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, and the joint National Assembly Committee on INEC and Electoral Matters on the Anambra election.

He explained that the commission has assured the National Assembly’s joint panel that it had perfected necessary arrangements to conduct a free and fair poll.

Anambra guber: INEC free to transfer results electronically=N'Assembly panel - Daily TrustThe National Assembly joint committee on INEC and Electoral Matters, on Wednesday, said the Independent National Electoral Commission is free to transfer the results of Anambra State governorship election electronically. Transmitting results electronically is not enough because there's still human interference at the collation stage and chances are the results can still be influenced. So, i would have advise every stage should be done electronically to reduce the level of manipulation.
