Veteran singer, Friday Igwe, popularly known as Baba Fryo, has said that if Davido wants to donate money to orphanages, he should do it directly., “If I meet Davido now, I would advise him that if he wants to donate money to orphanages, he should go to them directly. Let people see what he is doing. It should not be an audio donation.
“Anyone can say they are donating to orphanages. That is why I asked which orphanages would be the beneficiaries. When I made that statement, I did not mean it the way bloggers twisted it. I would never speak against orphans. If someone wants to donate money, they should make it visible . Some people cannot afford one meal in a day. I know this because of where I was brought up – Ajegunle area of Lagos. I am not against giving to orphanages.
The singer also stated that his son no longer had any problem. He said, “I don’t have any problem now but I would like to say that when I needed help during my son’s issue, it was people I did not know that helped me out. Some people I know also helped me and I appreciate them. Right now, I want to work with orphans through registered non-governmental organisations. I will sacrifice my time to work with them and help those on the streets who can barely feed.
