Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Ali Ndume has expressed disappointment over the way northern Almajiris are being treated, saying they posed no threat to the society.
Explaining that the Almajiri system is the art of learning Islamic education, he insisted that there was nothing wrong, but faulted governors for shying away from their responsibilities as leaders. “If you look at it the Almajiri system is about Islamic knowledge and we joined them too. It is just a form of Education.
“The north-west, Northeast, we were under one region and we are all Nigerians which the Constitution is very clear on that”, he said.
