The suspects – Olagboye Abidemi, 32; Olasemojo Michael, 28; and Wasiu Waheed, 23 – were reportedly members of the Eiye Confraternity.
They were arrested on Friday by men of the Ogun State Police Command who reportedly stormed their initiation hideout in the Agbowa area of Ogijo.Oyeyemi said the arrest was made in continuation of the command’s war on cultism and other violent crimes.n Puff Adder on a routine patrol, got information about the hideout of the cultists where they usually initiate new members.“Recovered from them were one jackknife, one bloodstained silver knife, female underwear tied with charms and other assorted charms.”
The PPRO, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, had ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Anti-Kidnapping/Anti-Cultism section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.He said the commissioner warned that the state would no longer be conducive for violent groups as the command would take the battle to their doorsteps.All rights reserved.
