The late children, Kelechi, aged 12, Chimdi, aged 10, Oluomachi, aged 8 and Kingsley, aged 3, according to reports, on 25th of August, 2021, had gone for holidays at the home of a friend of the family when they had met their untimely death. Their host also succumbed to death.
Mrs. Ikpeazu, who was represented by her Principal Secretary, Mrs Love Ezema, recalled that as soon as this incident happened, Governor Ikpeazu dispatched a team to the FMC that ensured that the survivors were treated promptly and also paid their medical bills. The Abia First Lady prayed God to grant the heartbroken woman the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
The bereaved father said the incident was very unusual and expressed gratitude to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for the role he played when the incident occurred.
