Gombe State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed into law a bill for the prohibition of kidnapping, abduction of persons and other related matters.

reports that the legislation followed the adoption of a report by the House Committee on Judiciary, which studied the bill.

Chairman of the Committee, Mr Ranbi Ayala, representing Billiri East State Constituency, presented the report on the bill at the plenary on Tuesday in Gombe. “Whoever instigates attempt to kidnap or abduct any person and in such attempt does any act towards kidnapping or abduction shall be punished with imprisonment for life without the option of fine.”

Kidnappers are better than boko haram. Kidnappers want ransom, boko haram want blood. If you are to choose BTW your money & your life which one will you go for?. Though, both & evil but one is better than the other

And very soon MBuhari will ask for rehabilitation center for repentance kidnappers.

A lot of states have approved death penalty for kidnappers but using Gombe as an example when was the last time a governor signed a death warrant for execution of a death row inmate in the state.
