Glo’s Battle of the Year Nigeria excites dancers - Punch Newspapers

A dancer based in Lagos, Samuel Ikenna, aka Sam Dance, noted that at the height of the pandemic, he had to do other jobs he had no interest in to make ends meet. He told Sunday Scoop, “The COVID-19 pandemic was practically the most challenging time of my career as a dancer. Before the pandemic, the industry had not evolved to a point where many dancers could make decent income off their talents. Only a few dancers were earning it ‘cool cash’. However, the coronavirus pandemic worsened things.

The show, which is organised in collaboration with the House of Royalty and Red Pepper Production, has already signed up a team of experienced and versatile judges from different parts of the world. They include Poco Lee, Pinky Debbie, Izzy Odigie, Big Flo, Maxbuck, Dunamis, Franc Okwara, JC Jedor, Poxy , Gidnasty , Menno and Manuela .

Indeed, over the years, Glo has contributed immensely to the support of the Nigerian entertainment industry. From signing entertainers as brand ambassadors with mouth-watering deals to organising several music and comedy concerts, as well as sponsoring television shows and dance competition, the telecoms company which introduced the per-second billing to the country has shown that it is passionate about the arts and is ready to support it in whatever way it can.

A statement from the company stated that the competition would redefine entertainment in the country. It added that the show would offer unlimited opportunities for Nigerian youths to pursue their passion.
