Foreign refineries process N2.39tn oil for Nigeria in 13 months - Punch Newspapers

Foreign refineries processed crude oil valued at N2.39tn between March 2020 and March 2021 to ensure domestic supply of refined petroleum products in Nigeria as the country’s plants remained in a state of disrepair.

The corporation, in its latest April 2021 report, said the volume of crude processed by the foreign facilities between March 2020 and March 2021 was 145,86 million barrels. NNPC manages the country’s refineries located in Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna. Rehabilitation has commenced in Port Harcourt, while funding has been approved by the Federal Government for the revamp of Warri and Kaduna refineries.

The corporation, however, said it had been lifting crude oil on a monthly basis and processing the commodity through the DSDP scheme to meet the demand for petroleum products across the country.
