The Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader of PwC, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, has advised the federal and state governments to direct their personal income tax collection efforts to the upper class, saying the informal sector earned too low to afford tax payments.
Oyedele said, “South Africa, for example, has suffered a recession, high unemployment rate just like Nigeria and their population is less than one-third of Nigeria’s. Earning N4m a year equivalent in SA exempts you from personal income tax. During his presentation, Oyedele advised the marketing communications professionals to adjust to the recent innovations happening in the digital world.
