A week after a student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Doyinsola Boluwaji was reportedly swept away by flood in the town, she has yet to be found.

Boluwaji, a final year student of Religious and African Studies Department of the AAUA, was said to have been swept away by the flood, which entered her house last week Tuesday.

Since then the search parties organised by the institution and the community had begun to look for her in the river. However her father, Mr. Joshe Boluwaji expressed optimism that the 25-year-old lady would be found alive. To this end, the traditional ruler of the Akungba Akoko, Oba Sunday Ajimo, was said to have urged the religious leaders in the community to embark on interdenominational fasting and prayers in order to find the missing student dead or alive.

The senior police officer further explained that the community and the police were working hand-in-hand to see that the student was found. The Head of Media and Protocol Department of the AAUA, Mr Victor Akinpelumi, said the missing student has not been found. “Since last week, we have been searching for her in the river, the local divers and other people had been assisting us but we are yet to find her. We are still on it. As I’m speaking with you, our people are at the place searching” Akinpelumi stated.
