There are strong indications that the federal government may cut workers’ salaries as part of efforts to reduce the high cost of governance.
She spoke at a policy dialogue on corruption and cost of governance in Nigeria which was organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission in Abuja. She therefore charged the agencies to work towards cutting down cost because of dwindling earnings by the government.
This is laughable. Insensitivity of the highest order. You people should cut your huge salaries, first. Mchwww
Why is it always a salaries
Please somebody should just sell NIGERIA for me. I wan buy 😂😂😂
Slash salaries of junior staff on minimum wage and increase the cost of governance. Nice way for cost cutting
They should start with the executives firsts.
The President, VP, Ministers, Fed. Legislators, Fed. Appointees must henceforth take 25% of their salaries, to led by examples. The Civil Servants whose minimum wage has not been fully implemented can't afford salary reductions, given the high inflation in the economy..
Pls let it be political office holders salary.
Okay. Thank you
What are they governing?
These people wicked sha!!! You lavish yourselves without conscience, duplicate projects in the budget to loot, live off the sweat of the poor masses' backs. What you sow, you must surely reap.
Who that helps
Is this finance so daft? Is slashing salary your clueless government can do to salvage the economy? Woe betide this government.
Cost wan follow una
Wrong decision
WHY NOT SLASH THE SAKARY OF THOSE GOOD FOR NOTHING SENATORS AND NASS MEMBERS?
Kuku kill us....😂😂😂
I don't see how workers salaries amounts to cost of governance. When there's an oil boom, we don't see an increase in the salaries of workers, why the cut now? Reduce the bogus payments of legislators, ministers, reduce number of political appointees, deal with insecurity.
If you must reduce workers salaries. I will appeal you start with the national assembly legislators then political appointees who s earning does not reflect their representatives.
Reduce the cost of living for Nigerians and hyper inflation first!
Slash the salaries of NASS members, ministers and reduce the MDAs as recommended by a report in the past.
When cost of living is on the high side.APC government I hail una
I guess MBuhari is ready to split the nation already. What an unrest it will cause.
Slash the salaries & allowances of executives and top leaders by 70%, and let's see if the fight for the topmost seats will remain attractive to those who don't really have anything to offer..... Just saying!
Just like Kaduna. In tandem.
Story story
Dis government doesn't have focus ,
What will happen to consumer-prices at the market?
AMASIKE Slash salaries to 'reduce governance cost', really? Are we seriously having this discussion? Salaries , allowances, Pensions and retirement entitlement of political office holders (past & present) need to be reviewed downwards. Only the can we have a fruitful discourse.
Slash politician's salaries, reduce their S A's,cancel state ministers and let civil servants be.
Hmmmm
Please I appeal to you seriously (F.G) to please once again slah their salaries and enjoy the benefits of governance...
Cutting salary is the solution on hand. We don't know how many times you may cut salary in the next five or ten years time. The only option left is restructuring.
O better!
Reduce cost of governance ... leave minimum wage alone
Hope they will start with members of the executive & the legislature? Or have they set their sights on the already ridiculous wages paid to those on minimum wage?
And also ghost workers
I hope it will affect mr president and other politically elected officials only
Rubbish
Haba Madam! Why this wickedness haven't you seen that of horrible members in Red and Green Chambers.
scarfizal I'm not sure this man is not dead( buhari ) Ghost government
A confused Statr
Salaries of politicians?
No journalist challenge or debate these people, only announce or call them to listen to what they have. It sucks
scarfizal Slash your own salaries and other fabulous salaries of the legislatures and executives not civil servants
You don't want to print to pay salaries again, now you resolved to slashing of salaries. In real sense of it you guys lacks the capacity govern why not you and your principal step down let's capable hands steer us aright.
Slash Salaries, Reverse una insensitive policies, reverse the price of fuel back to N65. Let’s go back to the start. Let Dollar go back to N150/$1. Make political offices less attractive.
Abi Ori n tayin 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
This one u are saying rubbish, u guys should not forget to cut salaries of the so call Nigeria politicians too. Nonsense
Government must start paying political office holders with level 17 salary scheme,or else there wouldn't be peace in this country forever. Dis is d reason: 1.Population explosion, 2.corruption, 3.Poor leadership, 4.Rewarding criminals but punishing law abiding citizen & tribalism
Clueless set of people not long they promised to enhance staff wages and jst now another story
A sachet of pure water now sold for N20 from N5 when APC took over? Why not cut your salary & others ministers paid for doing nothing but inflicting hardship & hunger on nigerian?
Leadership by example. Let the reduction in salaries start from the top.
Yes cos a lot of money is needed to pay ransoms for different abductions!
Presidency, Governorcy, Senatecy, Representcy salaries right? Great idea! 2023 for you. Nonsense!
Is her own salary going to be slashed as well. Another hate speech from buhari minister
Slash the salary of your family members.
The slashing should start from the top, by reducing the number of ministers and the unnecessary long convoys
Can u imagine, with high cos of living someone is saying they shld slash salary. It's a pity
Why?
If them like let them not even pay them, the big bird is going down Nothing can stop it
Nimasa, NIA, CBN, Minting nd printing, NFIU, FIRS , Embassy etc a little clue malama.... Just passing
If you book rides on Bolt, you probably didn't know this:
Good move ... Slashing the humongous Salaries of ministers ,political appointees and aids along the reps will be great. A Salary of one of the executivea /Reps/Senator can cover 20 if not more civil workers.
I hope no be poor civil servants money o make e b ministers and those law makers they just sit down doing nothing collecting huge some every month
Slash salary again?
SMH, clueless
My single Kobo!
'May' still contemplating. You better don't touch civil servants pay.
Salary of the political appointee not civil servant.
Dunno why this woman is not sacked yet, it's obvious she doesn't know what she is doing
Wrong timing & Not now, Haba.
Politicians first.
To really give this idea real meaning, the slashes should be focused on NASS members, the Executives at the federal and state levels and other top government functionaries. You will be amazed at the quantum of billions that will be freed up for national development.
They are going after civil servants
The richest public servants whose salary would've been slashed are the NA and Executive wing of the Government. Let them show patriotism by slashing them by 50% so that Nigeria can prosper.
The minister said the President Muhammadu Buhari had asked the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission to review the salaries of civil servants and employees of several agencies to save cost. But no directives to cut huge wasteful worthless spending on politicians.
Provided you are not reducing that of the poor masses. Reduce that of the Senators, HOR members, ministers and reduce the number of cars on their entourage
Guess it is political office holders salaries.
Na dem sabi..wahala for hu de wait for government to survive
