BY MARK ITSIBOR, Abuja Indications have emerged that the federal government is now set to review the laws of Tax Appeal Tribunal (TAT), a special tribunal

Indications have emerged that the federal government is now set to review the laws of Tax Appeal Tribunal , a special tribunal that adjudicates over tax related conflicts.

A source who was at a 2-day retreat of the tribunal in Abuja recently, said that a draft case flow management manual was also considered and it was resolved that the tax appeal commissioners would review it and revert with their position. “The TAT is to set up rules review committee of the Tribunal to review the TAT rules and make recommendations for consideration,” he said.

LEADERSHIP gathered that those at the retreat including TAT’s coordinating Secretary, all zonal chairmen and commissioners as well as the staff of the coordinating Secretariat, and zonal Secretaries have resolved to approach the approving authorities of the federal government to make the Tribunal a special court to adjudicate over tax disputes.

Justice begins abroad | The Nation News NigeriaThe court recently fined the Federal Republic of Nigeria $200,000 as compensation to the complainant who alleged that beyond the rape, she contracted a sexually transmitted disease that had resulted in a pelvic inflammation that affected her uterus. So shocking and an international embarrassment that the NAF could handle a very important case this way. This shows the kind of people we are as Nigerian and why we can't progress as a nation. So shameful and an obvious victimization of a junior officer by her superior. Only in Nigeria. NGPoliceForce arrests us for committing no crime. They abandon us in jails for years, without court trial, and rape us as much as they want. For our men, they kill them and refuse to release their bodies to their families. Those are our lives in Nigeria
