The president of SOGON, Dr Habib Sadauki, disclosed this during a press briefing at the end of the 2022 scientific conference of the association, supported by

the Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health at Scale, anchored by the development Research and Projects Centre and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in Abuja.

Sadauki noted that the country’s maternal mortality rate was still among the highest in the world, stressing that the country’s present estimated 512 deaths per 100,000 live births is nowhere near the SDGs target of 70 per 100,000 live births.
